Theatrical saga in eight episodes, Kongo Chroniques recounts the life of a Congolese lineage through time, from ancient pre-colonial kingdoms to the future. Each opus is a play with its own genre, era, generation, and story. It is an independent world that can be read or performed separately from the rest. There is no narrative continuity, but there are strong resonances through the places, objects, languages, phrases, and music that Azani V. Ebengou weaves into his writing.
